According to British mag Auto Express, the new Fiat 500, due for launch in 2007, is the Abarth treatment in high-performance version of the new small car.

The new Fiat Abarth, shown in the sketch above, has a trademark monster fender flares original Abarth 500, which includes wider wheels and suspension harder. New car is said powered by a 150-hp, 1.4-liter turbo, capable of attracting the car from 0-60 mph in about 8 seconds. Abarth version will debut simultaneously with the Fiat 500 at the Geneva Motor Show.

Tuner Austrian-born Carlo Abarth became famous for Italian motor racing, producing several variants of the tiny Fiat 500. New sketch artist who brought Fiat 695 Abarth model number, just like the Abarth's top-of-the-line pocket rocket in the early '60s. In race-ready 695SS version, the 500 air-cooled two-cylinder engine bored to 689cc and is equipped with a Weber carb, high-capacity aluminum oil that (no doubt to help cool the engine!), And "stinger" exhaust. On the street-legal trim, the 695SS out ground-pounding 38 hp, but race versions could make more than (gasp!) 55 hp. A small car, but great fun!
